Reese Witherspoon on Playing Judge Judy in Possible Biopic

Reese Witherspoon and Judge Judy might be each other’s biggest fans. 

While attending the Something From Tiffany’s movie premiere last evening in Century City, California, The Morning Show star chatted with E! News where they broke the news to Witherspoon that the judge would love for the actress to portray her in a possible biopic.

After hearing the news, the 46-year-old actress went on to rave about her “girlfriend,” 80-year-old Judge Judy. “You know I love Judge Judy,” she told the outlet. “I go out to lunch with her, I mean she’s my girlfriend. I’m obsessed with her.”

“I love her book, that’s called Beauty Fades, Dumb Is Forever. Classic book,” Witherspoon shared. “She just gives out great information and knowledge and she’s just one of those truly wise people that you want around.”

After raving about the judge, the interviewer asked Witherspoon if she would play her in the movie. “Absolutely, I wouldn’t even have to think about it,” she said. “Yes, I’m in! Judy, call me.”

Although the judge is hesitant about bringing the film to life, E! News caught up with Judge Judy on Nov. 16 where she stated the reasoning behind Witherspoon being her top pick for portraying her in the possible film. 

“We’re friends, and she gets me,” Judy said. “And I think she’s a great actress, and I think she could—if they did, which I would not like—I think that she could carry that off.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Witherspoon portrayed a judge on the big screen. The actress is widely known for her role as the bubbly blonde attended Harvard and later became a lawyer, Elle Woods in the classic Legally Blonde film series.
