It’s shocking to believe that an Army officer shoot dead his wife, Colby Trickle was army officer reservist convicted of murdering his wife, Kristen Trickle, using her life insurance payout to buy a $2,000 sex doll.

Detective Joshua Burkholder expressed concern over Trickle’s use of Kristen’s life insurance money for a sex doll, comparing it to buying a replacement for her. Kristen’s aunt expressed appalled at Trickle’s actions, spending the entire $120,000 in eight months.

As well as the sex doll, he also spent thousands on video games, paying off debts, and buying music equipment with the hope of becoming a performer.

Trickle went two years without being arrested after a coroner ruled the death as a suicide. Despite that ruling, investigators continued to build a case.

Sergeant Brandon Hauptman was the responding officer, and told CBS News that when he responded to the scene there were certain aspects that were unusual.

Kristen Trickle committed suicide wearing underwear, which is unusual for a woman to cause a face injury. The gun found at the scene was too large for her to have fired.

Trickle had a phone alarm ringing at the scene, setting plans for the day. Trickle shared military experiences and tours of the Middle East and Central America.

While he was being sentenced, the outlet reported that he apologized for being a bad husband and son but continued to claim he never shot his wife.
